When it comes search engines, google is still the king, and they are doing everything they can to maintain their lead,   the reason cited is that google wanted to provide more relevant results, on official google blog it is estimated 11.8% search results will be affected by this update, put it this way, there are about 12% of google search results are considered low quality by google itself. Google started this change almost one year ago, no wonder I saw a few of my keywords’ ranks dropped like a rock, on the other hand almost all keywords promoted by contextual links are not affected, a few of these keywords ranked better than ever, it’s obvious that linking campaign the old way is the thing of past, probably due to link spamming sites being downgraded by google.

Now what on earth is plain link building and how do people do it? a large percentage of SEO firms will do this,  they will get links from any websites which accept adding links, the only updates on those websites are the new links, and most of them are useless, the name link spamming are just for these sites. Now google algorithm probably will weed out these sites, the links on those spamming sites won’t work anymore.  

Maybe a few examples will make it clear. In the very beginning, I didn’t know better, I started with this keyword, Ratchet Binder, of course with old way of link building, lately I figured that every site in the campaign had way too many links, and the worst thing is that those sites are linking sites only and had no content, not even crap content. This strategy worked in the beginning, finally the rank improved a lot, this was the case until google made the change. Now let’s look at another keyword, chain pullers, most back links for this keyword are from articles and posts, with very few plain links, now we have really good ranking for this keyword. So contextual link wins this time, what about future? It all boils down to content, so if you create great content, not only people will love to read your stuff, so do the search engines. How do you do it? Writing articles and building blogs, take a look at this blog, best baby strollers , I didn’t put too much effort into it from start, but I never stopped posting, and to my surprise, I have high ranks for some of  competitive keywords. Now you can see, blog marketing with great content is the way to go. Now imagine you have your own blog network, for instance Transport Chains, then it will be easier to do article marketing.

Remember content is king, you just need to create content, publish and share with people, promote your business with the content, your effort will reward you handsomely in the end. Persistence and patience are the keys to success, long term strategy is required to improve anything of significance, it doesn’t matter you’re doing SEO or advertising your business, now all we need to do is to share our love for creating and sharing quality content and not to worry about the search results all the time.
